Wow! 2012 has been a crazy year to say the least! All of the count downs have already begun recapping the year. This was probably one of the greatest last years, but 2013 holds a whole new adventure for me and my wonderful new wife. It is official, WE ARE MOVING TO VANCOUVER CANADA! ![]() Such a beautiful city! It still has a west coast vibe, everyone was really nice and it has somewhat of beachy feel when we were up there. Almost like a San Diego mixed with a Denver. It doesn't feel like a big city, like San Francisco or Los Angeles, but it still has a ton of great shops and restaurants. Im excited because Whistler is only a couple hours away and there are a couple local ski mountains about 30 mins from the city. Our move will provide lots of great opportunities and give us the ability to experience a new perspective of living outside of the USA. I know, it is just Canada and we will only be an hour from the border, but it is still a new experience. We are really excited to see what the next chapter of life holds for us in Canada. I especially will be exposed to a whole new healthcare experience in Canada. I know there is a lot of conjecture in the USA about Canada's healthcare system from supporters and critics. I have always lived a life of engagement to help determine my own perspective. I fully expect their to be pros and cons, but I think they will be less dramatic than people make it out to be either way. With diabetes in the USA, I am continually tied to having to be employed or risk losing my health insurance and therefore losing my ability to afford life prolonging treatments and equipment. I don't want to get political, I am just stating the facts. I hope to shed some light on my experiences with the Canadian healthcare system when I actual can experience it for myself. Please continue to check back here for some of our updates in our move next month and our new experiences! 2013 here we come!

As a Vancouver born/lifelong BC resident...Welcome! I hope you enjoy your time here. We think our healthcare is pretty good...having experienced a couple (potentially expensive/bankrupting) health concerns in the last 7 years. Not perfect of course, but not bad.
